Pre-op Instructions
- Please wear loose fitting clothing with sleeves which can be rolled up past the elbow, and low-heeled shoes.
- Contact lenses, jewelry, and dentures must be removed at the time of surgery. Tongue/lip piercings must be removed prior to surgery.
- Do not wear lipstick, excessive makeup, or nail polish on the day of surgery.
- If you have an illness such as a cold, sore throat, sinus infection, stomach or bowel upset, please notify the office as soon as possible before your scheduled surgery.
- Please remember to use the restroom immediately before your appointed time.
- Please make prior arrangements before surgery to have someone available to check on you throughout the day, after your surgery, or provide assistance at night if needed.
- Please take all previously prescribed medications as you normally would before your scheduled oral surgery.
- Patients under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at the time of their surgery.
- Prescriptions for oral sedatives and pre-op antibiotics will be called in two days before your scheduled appointment.
- Children scheduled for procedures with pre-op sedatives must take their sedatives in the office under the direct supervision of Dr. Hochberg, Dr. Abel and their staff. No exceptions!
If you take routine oral medications, please check with Dr. Hochberg or Dr. Abel prior to your surgical date for instructions.
