Dr. Mark D. Abel
Dr. Abel was born and raised in the Midwest, but acquired all of his higher education in the Northeast. He obtained an undergraduate degree from MIT in 1998 and his dental degree from Harvard in 2003. At Harvard, Dr. Abel was the recipient of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain Award. He then moved to Philadelphia where he earned a medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2006. In June of 2009, he completed Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Abel is Board Certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He subsequently has earned Fellowship status from the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Abel is delighted having settled in the Manchester area. He provides a broad scope of oral surgery services at his office and at Catholic Medical Center, including: wisdom teeth extractions, dental implant placement, bone grafts, biopsy of oral lesions, repair of facial trauma, pediatric oral surgery, and treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders. He is certified for office administration of general anesthesia and is a New Hamsphire Office Anesthesia Evaluator. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the New Hampshire Dental Society, and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Outside of work, Dr. Abel enjoys running, hiking, and spending time with his wife Sue and their two sons: Soren and Henry.
